Academic Prerequisites for PMA Long Course 157

Marks – FA/ FSc/ Equivalent:
Minimum 60% marks in FA/FSC and equivalent.

Candidates who secure 60% marks or above in BA/BSc/ BA/BSc (Hons) and BBA/BPA, with 50% marks in FA/FSC are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course.
Relaxation of Marks – FA/ FSc:
55% marks for the candidates from specified areas with domicile. Areas including Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum Azad Jammu Kashmir, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil Balakot(Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in KPK, Tharparkar and Tehsil Umer Kot in Sind, District Rajanpur, Areas of Cholistan Desert, Drawar Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab. Besides being domicile holder the candidates must have been actually studying in the same areas.
Serving Army Soldiers:
50% marks in FA/FSC and equivalent.
Verification of Mark Sheet/Certificate:
Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/ Intermediate/ BA/ BSc must get a verification certificate signed by secretary/controller exam of concerned board/university.
A’ level candidates applying in Pakistan with aggregate 60% marks are eligible without seeking equivalence certificate as calculated by IBCC. However, all the candidates who have passed ‘A’ level and equivalent examination from abroad or have passed from Pakistan with the result less than three Cs are required to submit equivalence certificate issued by Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBCC).

Who are ineligible for PMA Long Course-157?

Twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB)
Twice screened out by Inter
Service Selection Board (ISSB)
Tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance in Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) except waiver granted by the competent authority.
Dismissed/removed/debarred from Government Service including Armed Forces.
Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offense (to be ascertained by the competent military authority)
Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (PUF by AMB). Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board. However, Pakistan Air Force candidates who become medically unfit for flying but fit for ground branches can undergo routine medical Examinations as normal candidates if they are desirous to join other arms.
Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested)
Withdrawn from any bonded
Armed Forces college / Institutions on disciplinary grounds.
Withdrawn/discharged/resigned or purchase of commission from any Armed Forces Officers Academy / Training Institutions on any ground.
Tempering of academic certificates/forgery/concealment to get undue favor.

Registration And Preliminary Selection Process

Candidates can register either through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). Following procedure will be adopted:

Registration through Internet:
Candidates can register on website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. Individuals have to visit the website for exam slip after successfully registering themselves, normally it takes 5 to 7 working days for generation of exam slip. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on computerized roll no slip. Date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring along documents (as per the list mentioned in advertisement). Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computer as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.

Written/Intelligence tests will be based on multiple choice questions from English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat and General Knowledge. The candidates declared successful in written/intelligence tests will undergo physical/ medical tests and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).

Note:
The TCC Candidates who apply for PMA Long Course will also be considered as Repeater Candidates.

Any Candidate applying for PMA L/C for the first time will be considered as Fresh Candidate despite being appeared in ISSB of Pakistan Navy or Pakistan Air Force.

Repeater candidates must report at concerned Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs) from 28 Oct 2025 to 7 Nov 2025 for preliminary test.
Preliminary Selection: Module based selection for Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) will be carried out, for which a module is being developed at Personnel Administration Directorate. Following will be included in the initial test with weightages assigned in the module:
Written/Intelligence and Writing of English and Urdu Essay

Medical Examination

Physical Test

Interview by preliminary selection board headed by Selection and Recruitment Officer (S&RO)
Written/Intelligence Tests:
Written/Intelligence tests will be based on multiple choice questions from English, Maths, Pak Studies, Islamiat and General Knowledge. The candidates declared successful in written/intelligence tests will undergo physical/ medical tests and interviews at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).

Physical Tests:
Following criteria has been set for all candidates:

Passing all events as per above table are mandatory for each candidate. A candidate failing in any 1 x event will be considered as Physical Test (PT) failure and will not be given Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form.
Interview:
Candidates clearing written, Medical & Physical Test will be finally interviewed by S&ROs (instead of Brig by the formation) and Psychologist.

Before interview every candidate will be required to write an essay of 10 lines in English and Urdu. Plain paper to be issued to candidates before interview for Eng and Urdu essay. Topic of the Day will be reflected on the board in exam hall/room. S&RO will write pointers of every candidate appearing in interview. Each candidate will be given marks out of 20. A candidate securing less than 12 marks will be considered failure and will not be given Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form. Following guidelines are given for conduct of interview:
Expression and confidence in English and Urdu

Adequate Knowledge about current affairs

Adequate Knowledge about Geo and Pak Studies

Overall outlook

Extra curricular activities include sports and hobbies

Any other aspect as deemed appropriate by the Panel

Recording of interview of every candidate through CCTV be ensured by all AS&RCs and same be shared with PA Dte on CDs on weekly basis

Detailed Bio Data Form:
Candidates who successfully pass the initial test at Army Selection and Recruitment Center (AS&RC) are required to complete the detailed biodata form by clicking on the online Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) application form available on the course registration website
After filling of detail digital form, candidate is required to download character certificate form. It is to be verified from required gazetted officer and principal. Form duly completed to be submitted in 5 x working days by candidates at respective Army Selection and Recruitment Center (AS&RC)

Form ‘D’ will be issued to candidate on successful completion of prelim test. Which is required to be deposited along with character certificate while signatures

Selection & Recruitment Officer (SRO) to physically sign the form ‘D’ in presence of candidate while signatures

PMA Long 157 Required Documents for Online Registration

Original certificates and detailed mark sheets of Matriculation, FA, FSC, or equivalent education (attested).
Candidates over 18 must provide their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Candidates under 18 must submit a Computerized Form “B” or the CNIC of their parent/guardian.
Three passport-sized photos, attested by a Grade 17 officer.
Army candidates must provide a photocopy of the ISSB
“Recommended” letter along with the relevant documents.
All documents must be attested by a Grade 17 officer.

How to Verify Educational Marks Sheet / Certificate?

Those candidates having no certificates issued by the board or institutions with duplicate / revised mark sheet/ matric certificate/ intermediate certificate/ BA/BSc degree, those candidates must get a verification certificate signed by the Secretary / Controller Examination of concerned Board / University.

Those students who have ‘A’ – level certificate in Pakistan having 60% marks are eligible to apply without taking an equal certificate as calculated by IBCC.

But those candidates who have cleared A-level and equal exam from foreign, or have cleared their exam from Pakistan with less marks than Cs, so they can submit an equal certificate issued by IBCC.

Who can Apply on Hope Certificate for PMA Long Course – 157

Those candidates who have cleared their part-I of FA / FSc with 60% marks and appeared/are appearing in second part/ final term examination can appear in the PMA Long Course with Hope Certificate taken by the head of Institute.

Initial Medical Tests / Examination at Army Selection Centers

After clearing the written and physical tests examination of PMA Long Course, a candidate has to appear for pre-medical examination. In which, candidate will be examined;

Note:
Candidates must have neat and clean ears and body (Undershaves). If you use glasses due to weak eyesight then bring along with you. Moreover, bring your original documents along with 6-8 photographs.

How to prepare ISSB Tests Online Free?

After Clearing Initial Academic tests, Physical tests, Medical examination and interview, candidates are to be given ISSB forms for further selection and analyzing their personalities. How can Pakistani Nationality holders living abroad apply for PMA Long Course 157?
Candidates having Pakistani
Nationality are exempted from the preliminary selection tests.
Overall physical capability will be checked by the defence authorities.
They are to approach Pakistani embassy for necessary forms of ISSB.
They are to submit necessary documents in Pakistani embassy.
Postal order of Rs. 100/- and a Bank Draft of Rs. 500/- in the name of Director General Personnel Administration, Personnel Administration Directorate, GHQ, Rawalpindi.
Candidates have to mention Pakistani residential postal address.
Candidates will be informed through Pakistani postal address.
Travelling allowance will not be admissible at this stage from abroad to Pakistan.

Individual can register himself through online by using Army official website for Joining Pak Army.
Candidates must have their email account before online registration of joining Pak Army.
Candidates are to report at the given time and date at Army Recruitment and Selection Centre.
Once the date is given by the online army registration then it will not be changed.
Candidates have to bring all necessary documents along with him on the day of tests.
Candidate must know about use of computer for online initial tests.
Those candidates who have no internet facility at their homes, they may visit to their nearest Army Recruitment and Selection Centre for Online registration of PMA Long Course.
Candidate must bring following necessary documents for Online registration of PMA long course.
Keep Original Certificate / detailed Marks Sheet of Matric / FA / FSc / Equivalent.
you must have Computerized National Identity Card if more than 18 years and above or computerized Form-B along with Guardian’s computerized National Identity Card (Father or Mother) for less than 18 years of age.
One set of attested photocopies of the above-mentioned documents.
3 to 6 at least x passport size colored photos duly attested (front and back) by Principal / Class-1 Gazetted Officer.
Original as well as one photocopy of the “Not Recommended” letter by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) is also required for Repeater candidates.
Old CNIC is not acceptable.
Same documents (Original & One set of Photocopy) are to bring on the day of initial tests of PMA Long Course.
To join PMA Kakul, candidate has to clear initial intelligence tests, academic tests, initial medical, initial interview, physical test and then ISSB followed by medical examination in CMH.

Note:
Those candidates who applied for Technical Cadet Course and gone under ISSB irrespective of the outcomes, they will be considered as repeaters. Re-appearing candidates must visit nearest Army Selection Centre.
